The latest from NEMA on panelboards and switchboards
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association has released the following standards:
* ANSI/NEMA PB 1.1-2013, General Instructions for Proper Handling, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of Panelboards Rated 600 Volts or Less. Maximum unit ratings are 1,600 ampere mains, l ,200 ampere branch circuits, with or without switches, fuses, or circuit breakers.
* ANSI/NEMA PB 2.1-2013, General Instructions for Proper Handling, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of Deadfront Distribution Switchboards Rated 600 Volts or Less. Floor-mounted units rated up to 6,000 amperes include low-voltage power breakers, switches, instruments, and metering, monitoring, or control equipment.
