The U.S. Navy has turned to Starfire Systems Inc. in the clutch.
Actually, for a clutch.
Starfire, based in the Saratoga Technology and Energy Park in Malta, has received a $70,000 Small Business Innovation Research Award from the U.S. Navy to develop material to be used in the joint Strike Fighter, the fighter plane of the future that can take off vertically like a helicopter and then fly horizontally like a jet.
"The joint Strike Fighter is planned to be the backbone of our nation's future fighter aircraft force," said Richard Saburro, Starfire CEO.
