The day that Netflix Inc. subscribers and investors long feared has finally come: Starz said it will not renew its contract with the DVD-by-mail and streaming service.
"Starz Entertainment has ended contract renewal negotiations with Netflix," Liberty Starz Group's Starz Entertainment LLC said in a Sept. 1 news release. "When the agreement expires on February 28, 2012, Starz will cease to distribute its content on the Netflix streaming platform."
