Steckley's Olde House has been a fixture in downtown Carmel for 25 years, serving more than a million meals and hosting thousands of receptions and celebrations.
But on March 28, the catering hall and former restaurant threw its final party.
Jim Steckley, owner of Steckley's Catering Inc., has sold the Olde House at 111 S. Range Line Road to Favorite Finds Inc., a household-item consignment business in Carmel that plans to use the 11,000-square-foot building for its own operations, plus a tea room and commercial office and retail space.
Favorite Finds Inc. paid about $500,000 for the property, according to company Treasurer Joyce Axelson, who runs the 9-month-old business with her daughter, company President Terri Moore.
Steckley's, one of the largest caterers in the Indianapolis area, will now operate out of its other property: Oak Hill Mansion and Northern Beach Catering Park, a 54-acre facility near White River on East 116th Street in Carmel.
