Abstract

Strategies are increasingly becoming outdated within a few years, especially in technology-rich arenas like telecommunications. Companies need to reinvent themselves repeatedly. The following set of patterns can give executives an alternative to creating new business designs from scratch: 1. A technological development moves all the players in the game out of their accustomed position, causing power to change hands. 2. A small percentage of customers increasingly delivers the lion's share of profits. 3. A company uses technology to reinvent itself and achieve order-of-magnitude performance improvements instead of simply digitizing current processes.
