Strayer University, which plans to open in Charlotte this summer, expects to open nine campuses in North Carolina over the next several years.
Robert Silberman, president and chief executive of the Washingtonbased education firm Strayer Education Inc., says he sees North Carolina as a prime market for its brand of adult-focused education specializing in information technology and business.
Strayer has targeted North Carolina as its first expansion outside the Washington-Baltimore corridor and Virginia. The school plans to open two locations in Charlotte and one in the Research Triangle July 1.
