Sucker Free City

Abstract

[Spike Lee] returns to his most common battleground of race relations in this charged-up film that was originally a pilot for a Showtime series. Its three main characters find one another in interesting ways and attempt to cross difficult racial and economic divides to forge relationships. The story does a nice job of delving into three distinct cultures and showing how the battle for power and influence is pulling each one apart.
