A great idea for meetings, a digital pad can translate your notes to your PC, says Dr Bryan Palmer
It's not often that you can road test a gadget by using it to write its own review. But the DigiMemo A501 is a portable writing pad that can digitally capture and store everything you write in ink on ordinary paper.
It took me a while to see how this works. The pen does not come into contact with the digital pad, so somehow the pressure of writing must be picked up by sensors in the pad. Ah, the wonders of technology.
Built-in memory
You do not need to be beside your PC when you write notes, because the pad has an 8MB memory; just plug it into your PC to download your scribbles.
The DigiMemo will be useful to anyone who prefers to write rather than type, and it can be supplied with its own handwriting recognition software.
