John Benjamin quits Xchanging
John Benjamin, managing director of Xchanging Ins-sure Services, the insurance division of outsourcing firm Xchanging, has stepped down. Peter George, the division's new chief operating officer, will assume responsibility for the day-to-day running of the unit.
Xchanging says it was Benjamin's decision to step down and that he was not fired. "I don't know his personal reasons for making the decision," says a spokesman for the company. He adds that the parting was amicable.
Benjamin's decision to leave the firm follows the creation of a new layer of management that will sit above Xchanging's two London market insurance offerings - Xchanging Ins-sure Services and Xchanging Claims Services. Benjamin helped implement this change. "He was part of the process that led to the changes," says the spokesman.
The new team, to be called the Xchanging London Market Executive, is designed to give clients a single point of access for both divisions.
"A few clients had found the way the two companies went to market confusing," says the spokesman. "They were operating in the same market and were targeting the same clients. This caused a bit of confusion. To alleviate this we have created one executive - a one-stop shop for clients."
