Barclays Bank has finished the review of printers of its marketing materials and reduced their number from 20 to just three: Communisis; Williams Lea (and its recently-acquired Alistair Macintosh subsidiary); and the Ormolu Group.
The three are expected to share about pounds 35m-worth of work a year between them and act as an informal consortium combining the "best bits of each" to handle the work.
Most pleased with the deal appears to be the Ormolu Group, the UK's fifth-largest print group founded by Bob Hodgson in 1999, and which took over Pillans & Wilson and Waddies in May.
