CUPERTINO, CALIF. - Physical design automation startup Magma Design Automation got a boost with a recent announcement that Texas Instruments Inc. has signed a multiyear licensing deal for Magma's Blast Fusion. The Houston-based chip maker will integrate Blast Fusion into its ASIC design flow as an additional option, not a replacement, for existing placement and routing tools.
