Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) has taken the nationwide plunge and is making HotSpot 2.0 technology available on most of the 33,000-plus access points where it has also launched TWCWiFi-Passpoint security.
The launch, the company said in a press release, is the "largest Passpoint-enabled network in the country." Hotspot 2.0's attraction is that it makes Wi-Fi like a cellular network; a consumer logs on once and has access anywhere there's a Wi-Fi connection.
The HotSpot 2.0 technology is available on "many of the most popular recent mobile devices" from Apple, Samsung and HTC, among others, the press release said. Passpoint, meanwhile, enhances...
