Tune Warmer Cable is ready to launch another local counterstrike in the battle for your remote control.
The Cincinnati market will see the introduction of Digital Video Recorder service for Time Warner customers starting this month. The service, which compares to market leaders TiVo and ReplayTV, will allow Time Warner subscribers to record their favorite television programs with less hassle than recording with a VCR, said Rob Howard, director of public affairs, branding and media for Time Warner Cable in Cincinnati. The recorders are similar to VCRs but contain a hard drive that records the digital images instead of video tapes.
"People have become very, very busy," Howard said. They want more command over when and how they watch television."
