In the government's war on terrorism, technology is proving to be a valuable tool on which investigators can rely to track suspects. Boston -based Vality Technology Inc. recently announced a new product and initiative designed to aid the government in tracking individuals' financial transactions.
The software, called the Vality VeriQuest, is designed to allow disparate databases and applications to integrate, allowing information about suspect persons to be shared among businesses and the government.
Veri-Quest works by cross-matching databases with, for example, the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list - to enable financial institutions and exporters and importers to comply with OFAC requirements to report and block suspect transactions.
Vality's flagship product, Integrity, is used by corporations such as supermarket giant A&P, to manage inventory, suppliers and customers across disparate systems.
