After graduating from the University of North Alabama, Mickey Berry took a position working in the home office of a large insurance company. Part of his job was to go out into the field and work with agents, helping them to build their staffs and increase sales.
"One day, I just decided I could do it (sell insurance) myself," says Berry, 39, now owner of Mickey Berry Agency, affiliated with Farmers Insurance. "It was a real leap of faith."
Berry opened his agency in 1996 and by 1999 was named "Agent of the Year"...
