Appointments
Neeli Bendapudi, provost and executive vice chancellor at the University of Kansas, will become president of the University of Louisville on May 15. No permanent president has been in place there since James Ramsey resigned in 2016 amid a financial scandal. Greg Postel is serving as interim president.
Jeffery Boyd, provost of the Norfolk campus of Tidewater Community College, will become president of Rochester Community and Technical College on July 1. He will replace Mary Davenport, interim president since 2016.
Michael Hannan, provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, was named acting president to replace H. Fred Walker, who stepped down on March 30.
Ivan Harrell, executive vice president for academic and student affairs at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, was named the next president of Tacoma Community College. The previous permanent president, Sheila Ruhland, resigned in December 2016.
Jason Hurst, senior director of work-force development for the Alabama Community College System, began his new role as president of Cleveland Community College, in North Carolina, on April 2. Hurst replaced William C. Aiken, who had served as interim president since August 2017.
Thomas Parham, vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of California at Irvine, will become president of California State University-Dominguez Hills in late June. He will succeed Willie Hagan, who plans to retire from the university at the end of this academic year.
Lisa Skari, vice president for institutional advancement at Highline College, will become president of Mt. Hood Community College on July 23. She will succeed Debra Derr, who plans to retire on June 30.
Charles A. Wight, president of Weber State University since 2013, will become president of Salisbury University on July 1. He will succeed Janet Dudley-Eshbach, who plans to step down on June 30.
Departures
John Ronald (Ron) Langrell III, president of Bates Technical College since 2012, was fired by the college’s Board of Trustees in March "for convenience" rather than "for cause." Langrell had been on paid leave since late January, following an investigation prompted by an employee-harassment complaint.
