The clamor over Stamfordbased Tronox Ltd.'s proposed $1.7 billion acquisition of the titanium dioxide (Tİ02) business of a Saudi Arabian company is continuing, as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has filed a complaint against Tronox in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia.
The complaint alleges that Tronox's deal for the Tİ02 business of Cristal would violate antitrust laws by significantly reducing competition in the North American market for chloride-process Tİ02.
