University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas' only public hospital, is joining an industry-wide trend toward offering more outpatient care. The hospital is building the $4 million Ernst F. Lied Ambulatory Care Clinic on Pinto Lane.
William Hale, UMC's chief executive, said ground breaking is scheduled for Aug. 28. Hale said he anticipates the 30,000-square-foot facility will be finished in September 1998.
Funding for the project is coming from public and private sources. Hale said $2 million came from the Lied Foundation Trust, thus bringing the facility its name.
