The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW) said yesterday that the workers at Raytheon's (RTNA/RTNB) missile facility in Tucson, Ariz., voted to go on strike next week.
On Sunday, the members of the Machinists Local 933 rejected a new contract proposal after failed negotiations.
The union said that it could possibly strike as early as Nov. 2 if no resolution is reached this week.
Of the 1,420 union missile workers, only 5 percent voted against rejecting Raytheon's five-year contract proposal and going on strike.
