The product provides up to eight analog ports in a single PC slot, letting developers create larger applications as more ports per PCI slot become available. It also offers full H.loo switching, as well as backward compatibility with Multi-Vendor Integration Protocol (MVIP). It also provides voice quality, dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) detection, talk-off/play-off protection, pitch-corrected speed control, answer detection and undetected recording and monitoring. The Vantage PCI, which costs $1,996 for eight ports with switching capabilities, offers global system for mobile communication (GSM) speech compression at a rate Of 13.3 kbit/s. Circle No. 304
