LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST INTERNET RESELLER
A DISGRUNTLED CALIFORNIA reseller filed a lawsuit in Orange County Superior Count alleging Internet merchant Buy.com failed to honor its reseller agreements and breached a contract by not shipping computer products ordered online.
The legal action could have wide repercussions for the valueadded channel as it grapples with the shift to online selling and management of business relationships over the Internet, the plaintiffs' attorney said. In its legal arguments, the suit spotlights the issues of what precisely constitutes a reseller agreement and whether online purchase agreements constitute legally enforceable contracts.
