Sales Systems International (SSI) won an open-ended consulting and systems-implementation project with Comdata Corp., which is designed to bolster Comdata in the growing gaming industry.
The Atlanta-based VAR parlayed a purely advisory relationship with Comdata's Gaming Division into a full-blown consultative relationship where the VAR has assumed responsibility for everything from needs assessment to software installation and beyond.
Brentwood, Tenn.-based Comdata provides cash-advance and ATM-debit services to gaming establishments across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. As a result, the company has sales representatives in Las Vegas, Reno, Nev., and Atlantic City, N.J., and in areas with race tracks as well as riverboat and Native American casinos.
As the number of gaming facilities increase, Comdata needed to improve its ability to track sales, customer buying habits and contracts. It also wanted to improve communication between its field-sales staff and headquarters to give field personnel faster access.
