Vectren Corp. is moving forward with the second and last phase of a 62-mile, 345-kV transmission project that will ultimately connect three major power generation facilities in southwestern Indiana and western Kentucky.
The company announced June 4 that it had filed, under its Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Co. Inc. unit d/b/a Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana, a notice with Kentucky regulators to apply for the construction of a 25-mile line between Vectren's A.B. Brown plant on the Ohio River in Posey County, Ind., and Big Rivers Electric Corp.'s R.A. Reid station near Sebree on the Webster County-Henderson County line in Kentucky. Roughly 13 miles of the line will be in Kentucky, the company said.
The line is part of Vectren's much larger Gibson-Brown-Reid 345-kV project, connecting the A.B. Brown plant, the Reid plant and Duke Energy Corp.'s Gibson station in Gibson County, Ind., that Vectren had been planning to complete by 2011....
