After toiling away as a commercial printer for 13 years and spending another four years building a profitable technology firm, Ken Wahler can now call his company a true dot-com.
"We're finally not making any money," Wahler said as he periodically scribbled numbers and diagrams on a glossy white board in his office.
As founder and chief executive officer of Hunt Valley-based Versient.com, the 39-year-old Wahler is not pleased with his company's sudden lack of earnings - in the five years since he started the company, it has turned a profit each quarter - but he accepts it as part of his long-term plan.
