NEW DELHI: Indian telecom service provider Videocon Telecom has planned to invest over Rs 210 crore in Gujarat Telecom circle in the current financial year (2015-16).
The telco's investment will be on its GSM services network expansion, where the telco plans to deploy over 450 new cell sites, of these 330 sites will be for geographical coverage expansion across 142 new towns, and another 120 sites for capacity enhancement to accommodate more users.
The telco will be also investing to enhance its packet core to accommodate growing data usage on its recently upgraded 2.75G EDGE network. The telco currently has 3,989 cell sites in Gujarat and provides network coverage across 836 towns in Gujarat.
