The Bai Bang Paper Company manufactures 60,000 tonnes of paper, 5,000 tonnes higher than its designed capacity and 41,000 tonnes of pulp per annum. This figure accounted for 70 percent of the country's total printing and writing paper output. This year the company officially increased its capacity to 60,000 tonnes of pulp and 100,000 tonnes of paper per annum. To approach the target, Bai Bang has set up a programme to increase its production capacity in accordance with the development plans of the Vietnam Paper Corporation and Ministry of Industry. This was approved by the Government to raise the nation's paper manufacturing capacity, while improving relevant equipment and the machinery base, as well as the quality of domestically made paper.
The US$55 million project includes three packages. The first one is to invest in installing a fibre optic paper compressor and sharpener valued at $1.7 million, the second package worth $2 million is to upgrade the coal kiln and the third package is to invest in installing equipment lines worth...
