Viisage selected to provide face-recognition technology to Logicon

Viisage Technology Inc. (Littleton, Mass.; www.viisage.com), a provider of face-recognition technology and identification systems and solutions, has announced that they will provide face-recognition biometric technology to Logicon (Herndon, Va.; www.logicon. com), a provider of systems integration and smart card technology, for the $1.5 billion Smart Access Common ID Program recently awarded by the General Service Administration (GSA). Logicon was one of the five prime contractors selected for the ten-year, $1.5 billion program to provide smart cards to the U.S. Government. As a subcontractor to Logicon, Viisage will provide their MIT-- developed, patented face-recognition technology for identification, authentication, physical and virtual access-control applications.
