If the Belgian government fails to reduce taxes for Virgin Express, Swaggart says he is looking at hubs in the UK and Ireland.
Virgin Express is looking to expand its operations and possibly find a new hub in a bid to cut high tax charges in its Brussels base. The carrier is in talks with the Belgian government, but if no resolution is found, Virgin Express indicated that it could move elsewhere in Europe. Plans to buy an existing charter carrier in Europe, already with slots, operating licence and equipment, are likely to be linked to the airline's move.
