Wam!Net, the US managed network provider, has bought 4-Sight, the UK company whose name is synonymous with ISDN.
The deal is worth $40m, leaving Wam!Net with a further $80m to sped on developing its network on a global basis. The company has 3,000 customers in the US working with its network including Time magazine, retailer JC Penney, Walt Disney, RR Donnelley and Quebecor. It has wanted to expand worldwide and approached 4-Sight at the end of last year.
The deal was announced as the Seybold Conference in New York City opened last week, having been signed off legally the previous Friday.
The Bournemouth company now becomes Wam!Net UK with David Townend as managing director. Plans already in hand to move to l.arger premises will now be accelerated and additional staff recruited. 4-Sight's...
