When LA Bank opened its Carbondale office recently, it was the fourth branch the Honesdale, Wayne County-based bank opened in a 12-month period and the 11th overall.
"Now, it's time for a rest," says John Martines, president and CEO of LA Bank. "We have to digest recent undertakings, absorb the new branches and see that they are running profitably.
"We have gone from being the smallest bank based in Wayne County to being the largest," Martines notes.
The bank's assets for the first half of 1994 are $207 million with profits increasing to $1,019,000, up 4 percent from its 1993 record levels. Deposits are up 32 percent from June 30, 1993 to $174 million....
