Several times a month, as sure as summers in Phoenix are hot, David Scholl at Westcor Partners receives calls about adding more stores or buildings at Biltmore Fashion Park.
"I get a call a week from either a developer, an architect working with a developer or a broker working with a developer about an office or condominium tower, and even once in a while a hotel calls," said Scholl, Westcor's senior vice president of development.
That growing interest from developers and competition the high-end shopping center faces from boutique shops in Scottsdale are fueling Westcor's proposals to maintain Biltmore Fashion Park's competitive strength by adding retail, office or residential space.
Several designs to give the shopping center at 24th Street and Camelback Road a new look are in the final stages for a presentation in Santa Monica, Calif., this summer to Macerich Corp., parent company of shopping center owner Westcor Partners.
