For "skilling-up," making deals and networking with business leaders who could likely help with getting a new product or business off the ground, the What's Next Boomer Business Summit promises to deliver. The Summit, to be held Thursday, March 23, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., during the 2017 Aging in America Conference in Chicago, is now in its 14th year.
This ever popular Summit is the brainchild of Mary Furlong, president/CEO of Mary Furlong and Associates, who calls it a "conference within a conference."
"We're probably one of the first convenings of entrepreneurs, the nonprofit sector and companies pivoting into the longevity marketplace," Furlong says. "This is the conference where deals get done."
Innovators and Analysts Abound
Sessions are packed with knowledge gleaned from analysts like Laurie Orlov, founder of Aging in Place Technology Watch, Lori Bitter, an expert on the grandparent market, and Lisa McCracken, housing expert and senior vice president of Senior Living Finance Research & Development at Ziegler, which specializes in investment banking and corporate financing for senior living facilities.
The keynote speaker, Lilian Myers, is the 2016 IBM Industry Academy Aging Initiative Co-Leader, and has spent 25 years as a founder, executive and in other leadership roles in established tech companies and startups.
