The What's Next Boomer Business Summit-an annual "conference within a conference" at Aging in America and presented by Mary Furlong & Associates-celebrates its 15th year in 2018, which means the baby boom cohort of Summit participants was in its mid-50s when the Summit first began. Now that this cohort is reaching age 70, Furlong says certain issues that baby boomers were concerned with at the first Summit, such as taking care of older parents and navigating job changes, have evolved: at age 70, baby boomers may now be navigating loss of siblings and friendships, and pursuing optimal health.
The Summit will address these evolving themes, which illustrate how the aging marketplace is a moving target as people age into different sets of circumstances. "The 2020 View: Your Blueprint for the Longevity Economy" will be a fullday session, held Wednesday, March 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at San Francisco's Parc 55 hotel; Summit fee is $285 and pre-registration is required.
