Sharing is not only caring; it can also be the next leap to efficiency...at work. The concept of sharing resources across multiple business units has proved its effectiveness in international markets. This Global Business Services (GBS) model, however, is relatively new to the Middle East region. A key driver in the GBS introduction is the need for a clear organisational vision. As a report by PwC points out, cutting costs is no longer the key goal of GBS. It is also about "increasing process efficiency, improving organisational flexibility and scalability, and supporting global growth."
In today's resource-constrained world, relooking at the GBS model has become a strategic imperative for organisations to achieve higher operational efficiency and productivity. That is what GE is bringing to the region today.
