Southwest KFC, a local chain of KFC restaurants owned by Denis Schoenhofer, is buying 10 existing KFCs and the rights to build another in and around Tulsa.
Schoenhofer, who has been managing the stores since August, will close on the sale on Dec. 31. The purchase of the KFCs puts the number of stores Schoenhofer owns at 36, which includes locations in Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma.
The stores in Tulsa were all in bankruptcy. Schoenhofer won the bid to own the stores, a process he says has been a big project for the company.
