WINDSOR - Former Greeley city manager Leonard Wiest, three weeks after being ousted from his job, is settling in among friends in his new staff position at Trollco Inc., the developer of Water Valley in Windsor.
Trollco president and CEO Martin Lind tapped Wiest to apply the skills he honed during 35 years running Greeley's city government in fast-growing Water Valley.
" Leonard's going to be a priceless asset to Windsor," Lind said of his almost-lifelong friend. "He's really going to widen our wheel base at Water Valley."
Wiest, 58, was forced into retirement from his Greeley job in February after a contentious feud with two city council members and Greeley Mayor Tom Selders. His departure has divided the community and spawned a recall drive to oust Wiest's opponents.
But Wiest last week was not looking back but forward to his new role, one that reunites him with several former Greeley city employees now on Lind's staff. Among them are Tom Donkle, Trollco's water resources manager and former Greeley water department engineer, and Bob MacNamee, the head pro at Pelican Lakes Golf Course and former manager of Greeley's municipal golf courses.
Greeley native Wiest said he relished most the chance to work sideby-side with Lind.
