Wells Fargo's pending acquisition of National Bank of Alaska adds new international territory to the major U.S. bank through NBA's Russian Far East banking operations.
Alaska companies that have worked with NBA's Russian programs should still work with the bank employees in Alaska, said Dan Conway, Wells Fargo vice president of corporate communications in San Diego. "The idea to be successful is to keep operations local," he said.
Other behind-the-scenes work could be handled by employees outside
Alaska, he said. "Wells Fargo brings a tremendous amount of talent."
Wells Fargo intends to continue NBA's relationships with Russian Far East banks after the merger doses, said Dave Zuercher Wells Fargo executive vice president and group head of the Wells Fargo International Group.
