Womble is picked as one of the top 100 law firms in U.S.

WINSTON-SALEM - For the first time, Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice landed a spot on American Lawyer's list of the 100 largest U.S. law firms.

The Winston-Salem firm ranked No. 94 with gross revenue in 1999 of $128.5 million.

Managing partner John Garrou said Womble has doubled in size the past four years, adding attorneys through mergers and internal growth. It is part of the firm's strategy to retain and recruit more clients.
