IXC pulls together acquired companies to offer bundled telecommunications service.
WorldCom, Inc. is set to reveal the first fruits of its MFS Communications acquisition this week with an all-encompassing telecommunications service package that promises users lower costs and integrated billing.
The company will announce Intelenet, a network service package that will include local, long-distance, Internet and data services under one umbrella of fering with a single bill.
Since WorldCom's acquisition of MFS Communications became final last December, the interexchange carrier (IXC) has been offering local telephone service through its MFS subsidiary and Internet access services through its Internet service provider subsidiary UUNET Technologies. MFS acquired UUNET earlier in 1996.
