The government of Zambia sold the remaining portion of its copper mines to a group of investors headed by Anglo American. The sale of the remaining assets of governmentowned Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM) completes the privatization of Zambia's copper mines that began in the mid-1990s.
This latest sale includes ZCCM's Nchanga division, including the Chingola refractory ore stockpiles; the Konkola division, including the Konkola Deep project and the Nampundwe pyrite mine. Also...
