The United Nations defines climate change as the long-term alteration of temperatures and weather patterns. These can be natural, through variations in the solar cycle, but since the 19th century human activities have been the main driver of climate variations, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. In fact, the 19th century is called the century of industrialization, a period of great changes, during which a new wave of innovations in industry and technology known as the second industrial revolution took place, which had a great impact on transportation with the development of railroads, ocean liners and the automobile.
It is well known that the burning of fossil fuels generates greenhouse gas emissions that act as a blanket around the planet earth, trapping the sun's heat and raising temperatures.
