The partnership between ENGIE and Energy Observer knows no boundaries! It has now extended to the continent of North America, where explorers once dropped anchor. With a common desire to raise awareness and unite the pioneers of a carbon-neutral world, ENGIE and Energy Observer are offering low-energy and environmentally-friendly solutions in California.
Energy Observer lands in the City of Angels
After crossing the legendary Panama Canal, the boat continued its odyssey in the Pacific Ocean. During a stopover in the Galpagos Islands, a UNESCO marine reserve, the crew was able to gain a better understanding of the archipelagos energy challenges and its need to optimise water resources, as well as the work being done to protect its unique biodiversity.
Following a month at sea after its Galpagos stopover, the Energy Observer vessel arrived on the Californian coast at the end of April. It stopped at Long Beach and San Francisco before continuing on its way to Hawaii at the beginning of June.
In Los Angeles and San Francisco, ENGIE offered its industry and local authority customers, its stakeholders and its employees an exclusive tour of the boat. Everyone was able to learn more about the only laboratory-vessel of its kind in the world, gain an understanding of its work, and draw a parallel between our individual and collective role when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the environment.
