The proposed Revised Anti-Carnapping Act, a substitute bill increasing penalties for the crime of carnapping, has been approved on second reading on June 4.
The House Committee on Revision of Laws chaired by Rep. Marlyn L. Primicias-Agabas approved, reported out and defended in plenary HB 4544 in substitution of HB Nos. 312, 664, 912, 1009, 1170, 1218, 2039 and 2829.
HB 4544 is entitled "An Act providing for a Revised Anti-Carnapping Act, repealing for the purpose Republic Act No. 6539, otherwise known as 'The Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.'"
