Nur Energie and Desertec Foundation are planning to deploy 2GW of concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) in Tunisia.
TuNur Concentrating Solar-thermal Power (CSP) plants will eventually generate 2GW of electricity, which will nearly expand the average nuclear power plant by two times. Nur Energie and its Tunisian partners, led by Top Oilfield Services, are planning to build the project in a number of phases. The first phase is likely to start in 2014 while the first electricity exports are expected to reach Europe by 2016 through a new low-loss transmission line to Italy.
